When I was a kid eating out, even at McDonalds, was a treat. We only went out to eat on special occasions. I have inlaws now who are struggling because for years they ate out for every meal and they don't know how to cook. Cheap fast food was only sustainable so long as labor was readily available. We saw the big boomer retirement coming for decades and now it's a surprise the labor market's tight?
I eat out about twice a week, and I cook a lot of my own food from scratch. If you buy pre-made packaged food, your grocery bill skyrocketed. Mine went up, but not as much. Get back to cooking from scratch at home. It's healthier anyways.
But yeah, I love BBQ and I can barely afford to buy it.
