My first new truck was an 88 GMT400 K1500 Z71. My girl has her 1990 K2500 ext cab. and I love that truck. But, personally I am a GMT800 truck lover.
I do like some things about the 800s but I am sorry to say that they are in 3rd place for me it gmt400 and square bodies first 67-72 2nd and the 800s last

You like the "cat eyes" or the earlier ones?
Earlier ones for sure. I had an 03 Duramax at one time. The 04 I looked at had only 117k miles and it really had been taken care of and was pristine, inside and out and all maintenance had been done and had records. Perfect candidate, till I saw it was at wear bar indicators on all 4 tires and had several leaks.

@movietvet are you a member here https://www.gmt800.com/ if not maybe you might want to be
I am a member at another @Shaggy forum called the Tahoe/Yukon Forum and since I have a 2005 tahoe Z71, it is the perfect forum for me, right along with this one.

I did try the forum you are talking about and they are a bit slow for me. I would post to 2-3 threads and days would go by without any activity.
