Take the long view. Since you aren't taking the Time is the Constant, Quality is the Variable path,
as you perform the final QA on this motor while putting it together, thanks to all the time, focus,
& energy put into this powerplant you will end up with an engine that will bring pleasure every time
you use it, for years into the future.

Hear me now, believe me later: It will be well worth it when it's all said & done. A happy SBC is all
the antidepressant I've ever needed to navigate through the tough spots in life. :0)

Hopefully the block is salvageable. The cam and cam bearings aren't hateful but won't be reused. I believe a new rotating assembly is in order.

Emory cloth the worst crank journal until it's clean and then mic it. If you don't have a micrometer, use a dial caliper. You just need an assessment if it's trash. From the pics, it doesn't look as bad as many that I've seen.

Are you and I looking at the same crank? Take another look at that #4 main.
