Hello I have a 97 chevy c1500 that is having a weird issue. I was driving it down the freeway and the speedo went out. Then the trans went into limp mode. Got home shut the truck off and went to start it again and it didn't start. No crank no clicking from the starter solenoid. Starter is new but that doesent mean it's not bad. I am wondering what wire diagram shows where the signal wire from the starter goes. Maybe nuetral safety switch?

So I went and did some more diagnosing and found out it was the power wire going to the neutral safety switch. The wire had no signal when I put my power probe to it so with the key on I quickly sent power to the wire and the starter clicked DO NOT CRANK IT FOR TO LONG IT WILL START! Put it in park with the emergency brake on. Anyways I found a break in the purple wire and repaired it. Now the truck runs great and shifts.
