Lol yep. Watched the movie with that title not long ago.

My plans have slightly changed. Taking the 1997 on the trip rather than this one. Have to pull the 4L85E out of it and reseal the pump this week. Then put some test mileage on it.

The nearly daily monsoons have slowed my progress on the 87s interior build. The 97 is ready to roll minus the pump leak on the 4L85E which I believe is simply the input shaft seal. Going to go ahead and put a new pump o'ring and new pump bolt o'rings as well as enlarge the front seal drain back passageway in the pump on it while it is out though. Half a days worth of work.

The flooring is almost finished front to rear. A little more to go. I am going to work on it some more tomorrow, then have to switch gears, drive 100 miles away and pull the 4L85E out of the 97 to address the front pump leak.

I had a clean LS harness from a low mileage truck kicking around. Decided to modify my own harness. Took about 3 hours to blow it completely apart and remove what was not needed. That pile is what is needed to run a L31 on a P59 with a distributor. No rear 02s, no transmissions controls, no a/c controls. I am alao going to run it on a speed density custom operating system without the MAF.

EFI Connection is gonna to love you! Have you ever used those reusable zipties? I use them when I'm making up wiring harnesses.

any reason on no MAF? just one less thing to break?

I do not usually eliminate the MAF but in this instance it requires less changes to make. I have a 4150 style throttle body and a TBI air cleaner on it. Packaging a MAF and some kind of filtration with cool air would be a bit cumbersome in the limited space. To the casual observer this setup still looks like the TBI engine. I am wanting to swap the harness out, drop in a distributor, fire it up, do a little tuning and be done. The PF4 ECM tuning is just flat garbage, I can get the GM P59 dialed in much better with a couple of datalogs and revisions. I am also adding knock sensor protection as well.

that makes sense. i am surprised you even bothered with that aftermarket ecu... i remember when you ran MAF on TBI, I wonder whatever happened to dimented24x7
