Got the alignment done yesterday, and drove it around for a couple of hours today!

Have a few issues that need to be addressed right away:
Tick tick tick noise. Could it be an exhaust tick’? Checked all of the wheels and it doesn’t seem to be them. There is a small hole in the exhaust. See pic below. Will weld it up tomorrow. Not sure any ideas?

Do exhaust ticks usually come from behind the exhaust manifold?

Also a bunch of orange stuff got all over the place on the drivers side. Trying to figure out where that even came from. Maybe a pin hole radiator leak? Poured a bunch of stop leak junk in it way back when now ever Is that ugly color in the radiator.

A little diagnostic update:

Plugged the exhaust hole by installing a SS strap over it. However, the Tick Tick Tick is still there! Turns out it must be a wheel bearing. Put it up on jack stands and spun the rear wheel to verify. Hard to tell where the noise id coming from sometimes.

The radiator what was spewing all the orange junk on the suspension. It's leaking a descent sized puddle every time its driven now. It's the original 34-year-old radiator made in Alabama. Hope the replacement lasts half as long!

One other thing that needs taking care of is the steering gear has loads of play in it.

All in all, 3 new maintenance jobs coming up!!!

Been cleaning up, sanding and painting portions of the frame here and there. Just fill in work while attempting to track down actually good parts to repair the cooling system. Originally was just going to replace the radiator and be on my way again however the first replacement radiator from NAPA was total junk. It was shaped like a banana and the transmission cooler would not have fit anyway. That’s been returned and just received an awesome looking radiator from Engineered Cooling Products. Hope it works as good as it looks.
Two more problems to fix before hooking up the almost all new cooling system.
1. Heater hose connector is seriously trapped in the intake manifold and no broken bolt remover can take it out. Metal is to soft and just keeps stripping. Going to retap it through the broken piece and use a smaller connector. If that doesn’t work the whole manifold has to come off
2. Correct Oil cooler lines are unobtainable.

Part stores are starting to get under my skin with how they al have the same wrong cheap stuff for sale

Here is some pictures of the fancy new radiator, broken heater hose connector and a cool tool from harbor freight for testing coolant pressure and also filling with coolant
