So it has been a while but I have come to the point where I am wanting to rip the whole harness out and check everything. I installed a new Delphi distributor and while it fixed some things, other problems came up. The misfire off idle is still present but the tach needle does not flick up and down any more. An issue that has popped up is that I am getting random backfires through the intake now. I will be driving 55 at steady state and it will give a pop, loose power then back to normal driving like nothing happened. I am also noticing that when accelerating it is misfiring to where it feels like a pulsing, a bit like if you were to give more then less throttle while accelerating.
Things I have done so far:
- Replaced Coil
- Replaced Distributor with Delphi CZ20001 (New cap, rotor, pickup coil)
- New plugs and wires
- 0 degree advance with EST wire unplugged
- Unplugged and capped EGR port (Makes no difference at all)
