Yes it's been a absolutely brutal process!! hahahaha I think it is mainly due to information overload. The interweb is a nice thing to a point.

maybe I can help with speaker ideas these are what I am trying to decide from even though I am a metal person I would rather have a soft dome tweeter https://www.kicker.com/51KSC4604 https://www.skaraudio.com/products/tx46-4-6-inch-coaxial-car-speakers I do not know if these are a soft or a hard dome tweeter but I am also considering them https://www.down4soundshop.com/down...46ckywzS_Pd6jeQ76hdBW8E3HkMRTeel3x7viyVScIFIz
these might also be pretty good https://www.ebay.com/itm/2033295405...2deMmy1ZV923NyV7V5DP+HAQ==|tkp:Bk9SR4riwLCzZA https://www.ebay.com/itm/2042980481...CbUIX/1pHdlP4u3f+gCFWVJg==|tkp:Bk9SR47iwLCzZA

I'm beginning to think any aftermarket speaker will be an upgrade from the factory 34 year old ones.

Ken
Pretty much, and like @99xcss4 said, stay away from the list he gave you.
Those Kickers I showed you are as low as I'd go. Anything above those and you won't be disappointed I'm sure.

I know there are more not good ones but I can not think of them right now I have to say the first system I ever heard and got to play with was a dual xpe2700 2 pyle pl1090bl with some low level jvc deck was not lowest because it had a usb input was a friend of mine did not sound that bad but there is way better out there then then that at one point the dual died and he put a pyramid in and it did not sound as good even though it was more power

the only thing I have against the ds and cs series of kicker is that they use foam surounds other then that I think they are pretty good I have heard/read the the mid level cs are way better then their price point hit above their weight

You are probably on to something, I honestly didn't look too much into their construction. But for the price I paid, and just being powered off the deck, I ain't complaining. And Kicker was a brand I grew up on.

Highly unlikely they will survive the power I intend to throw back in the truck. Over 300w RMS from old school Phoenix Gold XS300 amp for the front, and 500w RMS XS500 for the subs.

I plan on doing kick panels, and those will likely get tossed in the B-pillars for rear fill, if used at all.
