Time to let mother nature do it's thing.
It breezy and getting warm, so it should bake nicely for a few hours.
Guess it's time to eat something then find something else to do. I have something in mind.

This is the something else in mind I had
Scuffed and cleaned. Then a nice mist coat, waited the recommend time and started laying it on a bit wetter. Repeat a few times.
And voila! Lol
Looks alright in the garage.
I actually have 1K clear for the top.
Ill probably hit it tomorrow, along with the tailgate.
Nap time!

let the Bondo hit the floor
let the Bondo hit the floor
let the Bondo hit the floor
let the Bondo hit the....FLOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!

Just getting started, 320 by hand.
Figured out pretty damn quick that doesn't seem like a fun time, still recovering from the shoulder fracture and tear.
So going to go to the local farm store when they open in a hour, and get some disks for my random orbit DeWalt. At least knock 90% down via machine.
Gonna be a fun dusty dirty day!!!
Can't wait....lol
Are you painting? Curious what primer, a 2k epoxy?

Yup.
It's just all rattle cans for now.
Just so it looks a little bit more presentable when out running around.
It will get a full real deal paint job down the line. Just wanted it not to be looking so much like a "project".
Using Krylon sandable primer and Duplicolor colors. They are supposed to be a factory match. Haven't had them up against the truck yet, but I'm not holding my breath they are perfect, as the truck is 32yrs old. But I'm sure it will be better than some random generic colors.

This is 1.5 steps above a full on farmer job! Lol
And I'm not going to pretend it's anything but a rattle can job.

I mean like this stuff, where it’s a 2k and it activates when you snap the bottom cap up into the can.
SprayMax 3680031 Gray Universal 2K Rapid Primer Filler 13.2 oz (2 Pack)

Gotcha....nope.
The clear I have does say 1k on it though.
Like I said, this is little above a farmer job until the real deal happens.

Save your money for real paint, nothing wrong with a project that rolls down the road. Do you have a compressor and guns? You will get better/more coverage with less material.
After seeing the silver on the roll pan what about black with silver. They do go good together.

You mean something like this!!! Lol
That was a factory color combo as well as the blue and a maroon version as well.
That has been discussed, and is definitely not off the table.
I do have a decent sized compressor, and am able to borrow a beast of a 2 stage if I want.
I don't have guns but available as well to borrow.
All in on this weekends project is around a hundred bucks. Worth it in my opinion to not have it looking so "projecty" lol

But it's been a learning experience getting used to doing bodywork again, sanding, Bondo etc.
