I’ve got 3” drop control arms on my truck. I live out in the country with washed out oil roads, pastures and water crossings that need culverts. I’ve never hit the spring pocket on anything. As long as it’s under your tire, it’s not going to hit.
Except that one time I dropped the whole wheel in a ditch. But it was sitting on the frame too.
