Engine build time has come, time to rip it out and tear it down. Clean up the engine bay and re-loom the wiring harness with some nice braided loom. Gave the intake a good clean a small shot of paint

Engine build will be
0.030 over
Comp Cam x4270hr
1.5 rollers
Longtubes
High flow cats
Msd street fire distributor
Egr delete
Updated spider injection
2500 stall
Possibly some heads but will determine that when I find out their condition after 450xxxkm

Awesome looking truck! Was just in awe going through the 8 pages of this thread! Amazing and beautiful build! Hey, I noticed you took the steel diamond plated bed rails off. My truck has the same thing at the moment, and I hate them. Just two questions, how did you get them off and did you have to line the entire bed or are those just rail guards that you purchased. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

The diamond plate was unfortunately riveted on so I had to drill the tops off then punch the rest out from the rails. Just purchased some westin bed rail covers for the time being until the truck gets painted and then I'll bedline the whole thing.

I had the tailgate properly bedlinered and it filled the holes that were on the tailgate

Engine is out, it's a slow process but we're making some headway. Really looking forward to cleaning up that engine bay and relooming the whole harness with some nice braided loom. I'll be dropping the engine off hopefully in the next month to the machine shop

I have those on my crew cab(came with the truck, ex farm truck). I like them for being able to lever something over the bedside and not scratch it up, but even though they're not polished, they get a bit warm in the sun. Another member has a pair he took off his dually; I just have to get over across town in the middle of the week and pick them up....

Thank you for that information. Unfortunately mine are riveted as well! What a bummer!!! I recently just invested in a leather tonneau cover for the time being. At least it covers half the diamond plate. That stuff was cool in the 90’s and it’s nice railing protection if you’re into it. Just not the look I’m really going for.

Cheers
