For under a hundred dollars a transmission temp gauge can be had.
Another under hundred dollar insurance policy is an accessory cooler and replaceable filter.
It would be an afternoon well spent installing the cooler and gauge.
It should be part of towing 101.

Can also monitor it with a Bluetooth OBDII thingy.

Sounds like I need to just plan on pulling a trailer, that will keep all the unknowns down. Whatever the towed vehicle will be 4X4, no sense taking 2W up the Alcan. Thanks to all for the help, Patrick
Flat towing up the Alcan? You must be a sourdough! I personally would trailer it and wrap it in pallet wrap, and an extra roll for after you cross the border. But if your a sourdough you got more tricks up your sleeve than me.
