I have a 1998 k1500 and was wondering if I could add the tow/haul mode that gmt800 trucks have? If someone has done it, has it been beneficial?

You need to 411 swap to do it i believe, but you have no indication if its on or not

I've been looking at doing this when I do my 0411 swap. You should be able to use a lighted switch, or add an indicator LED to the dash since we don't have a gauge light. Or am I missing something?

I believe stock 98-00 black boxes has that as a tune option. I had it done once and eventually went back to regular.

It needs a momentary switch but you could set up a relay to light a LED if you know what you are doing.

I need to brain storm on this. The attached relay system would work to turn the LED on, but would need a key reset to turn it back off. So if you hit the button again without a key reset the tow haul would be off but the LED still on.

This is what you want. It’s way easier than a latching relay circuit and takes up way less room. This is what I ended up doing on mine and it works perfect. Push the button light comes on, push it again OR turn the key off, it it goes off amd stays off when key back on.

*edit** I guess wiring info would help lol. On the TR-7 Brown ties into the trigger wire from switch to the ecu. Blue is +out to the light. And of course red 12v+ and black ground (also ground out light) that's it, just 4 wires. Easy??
