Getting the ‘98 k1500 I recently purchased to daily up to standards has been a ton of work and substantial dollars. I decided to tint it myself, it’s only been 35 years since I did one should be easy right? Don’t be afraid to do it, these kits make it so simple.

Found this eBay seller with precut tint kits with good choices of different quality/price. I went with the middle of the road 20% on back, 35% sides and a 5% windshield brow. The key is clean both glass and surroundings, and I was cleaning the back panels today so thought I’d put tint on the back glass since it be ready.

You cut it out 1/4 inch from the precut line, and it snaps of with a clean edge. Test fit it on the outside, looked perfect so I soaked the inside with “tint juice” and on it went and fits great! The key is keep all surfaces wet and slick.

I picked up a tint install kit for $13.00 at parts store that had a slick squeegee tool, razor knife, application fluid and lint free cloth. Tint juice is soapy water basically.

All in was $70 for the tint kit. Comes packed in a heavy duty tube and wasn’t damaged. Didn’t do the side windows cuz it’s hotter than a pawn shop chainsaw outside and I’ve got everything new for AC system just not on the truck yet, been busy with new drivetrain, suspension, front hubs and brake upgrade installation.

Ive used them on a couple different trucks . Like u said trick is to cut inside that line. Bc if u cut the exact out its gona be too big.

Jyst did my f250; had to cut an inch off the top portion / front roll down and 1/2 inch off the back for it to fit properly.
