Does this seem normal as far as the distance between the gas and brake pedal?

Hydroboost pedal is in. Does the distance between the gas and brake pedal seem right?

Here's three shots of what it looks like in my crew cab with factory HB. Difference between gas and brake pedal height is my trigger finger from tip to knuckle. Probably 3" at least....
Update: locked keys in truck, went to get them out and brought tape measure. 3" difference in height!

Can't confirm it in those terms... but on mine it is roughly 3 inches above the throttle pedal.

Level, would be so much better.
My Express van is nearly level but it has a newer body style van hydroboost on it and matching master cylinder. When I went away from the low drag calipers it no longer needed the old style master. I like it makes it quicker to get your foot on the pedal if you really need to use it. Standing on the pedal it is still 2-3" off the foor with the engine running. Unlike the old vacuum boost/NBS master combination that was downright dangerous I tried years ago this one has a ton of stopping power. Hydroboost and master were a matched pair for a 2015 Express 3500. The pedal has great response too, does not take much movement to get it stopping well and get on it harder and really hammers down.

How bad is the pedal height without the hydroboost pedal? I'm curious if I'd be ok to change everything except for the pedal out for right now and when I'm able to find one locally I can swap the pedal in?

There are a few different hydroboost push rod lengths. Originally, I had a hydroboost from a 1995 model truck K3500. I had the same issue you are talking about. I was not able to source a hydroboost pedal, so I removed the pin on mine and relocated it higher up so the pedal dropped. It worked great but the pedal felt too high. I replaced the unit with a 1998 K3500 hydroboost, and found that the rod was a little bit shorter. This dropped my pedal to where it should be.
