My efans are activated anytime the AC compressor is running, pretty sure most folks wire em up that way.
The opening posts in these threads all mention the AC control.
I bought a set of electric radiator fans at pull-a-part, I got them off of a 2004 Cadillac DTS. They were about $30 with tax. I messed up, and also got a relay block with only 4 relays, it was $25 as they charged me for a fuse block with relays. I thought this was high, but had I bought 4...

The flex a lite controller I am using has a temp probe for the radiator and is also wired to activate whenever my AC compressor is active.
Might want to think about getting your existing fans wired to come on with the AC before installing bigger better / more fans.
Maybe you could temporarily wire the fans ON, and then run the AC at idle and see if your engine temps get / stay better, i dunno.
Think your trying to draw the AC condenser heat away before the engine temps get too high, probably makes the AC run better / not as hard as well.
I am no expert though.
Best of luck.
