finger lakes ny
Hi everyone. Experienced Newbie here trying to get my truck back together. Bought a new tank and A Delphi Fuel pump # FG0086-11B1. Both the new tank and fuel pump came with an o-ring but i cant get it to push down to even come close to getting the lock ring installed. If i remove o-ring i can but if i blow into inlet of tank it leak air out around pump. Any ideas ?

Lack of a seal there could cause numerous problems. One of which is when you go to fill it up, after the tank is full, gas will pour out that gap until you notice the waterfall under the truck and shut the pump off

Did the original gm tanks have a baffle inside ?

That should be captured in the part of the tank where the rubber fill hose connects. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be to prevent gas pouring out in case of a roll over, or to prevent siphoning. I needed a new tank, so I bought a new Sprectra-Premium and it didn't have that.

Does have any attachment points on it? Or is this a joke?

Anti siphon are screen type materials. If it was for a rollover spill preventer, it should be in some sort of cage so as guide to plug the fill tube.
