Would that be a Zlin Akro?
Beautiful work!!

Sorry forgot about this thread... Yes it is a Zlin. You know your airplanes!! 526AS to be exact. I think only 5 were built for world championship competition back in the mid 70's. More common is the AFS variant with a shorter wing and flaps.

My first RC plane!
Hi guys! I am so excited that I am almost done my first RC plane. I am having problems with mixing my wings to my V-tale. I have a GAVIN-8C with a 8 channel receiver with 3 mixes. How would one go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated ??

Just looking at that photo of the cylinder head and started to dream how I can unshroud the intake valve.............

Looks like you may get a little clearance around the side opposite the glow plug and at that little raised section at the glow plug. Cylinder flange really limits taking out any metal anywhere else.
Years ago a buddy of mine got seriously into RC planes and was bringing me chainsaw and weedeater engines to make prop adapters for them. I've got a Homelite weedeater motor and a two channel control set, been thinking of building a RC airboat,,,,,,,,,,,someday!

Don't mix the wing to the tail. You will need to use a "V" tail mix which will give you rudder control. The tail is very short on that plane. I fear you will experience pitch control issues. Just be aware of that. I'm not discounting your effort but as your first RC plane I think that will be a hand full to fly. Usually a first plane is a high wing slow flying plane. It would be my suggestion to seek out someone that is experienced RC pilot to help you.
