I am 16 and this is my first truck. I recently inherited a 1989 Chevy silverado factory sport edition. My dad had quite a few of this generation truck over the years and has always liked them. I'm currently fixing this up to use as a daily driver. I've polished what's left of the paint and cleaned the interior. From what I understand these factory sport edition trucks are fairly rare. It could only be painted black, red, or white. They had black grilles and red emblems. The factory 350 was replaced with a goodwrench motor in the early 2000s and has almost 100,000 miles on it and runs fairly well. I'll be asking questions as I go along fixing it up and appreciate any help you may offer.

Welcome from Alberta Canada
Sounds like a sweet ride.... especially for a 16yr old!!!
Feel free to post pics, and post your questions in the appropriate locations, that way they will get the visibility of the right people.

You inherited one of the best trucks ever built. Welcome to the forum. My suggestion would be to stay away from bolt on hot rod options and concentrate on getting every system in the truck working perfectly. If you do that it will likely ride you right through college with no problem other than paying for gas. Good luck, if you look for answers this is the place!
