I pulled up in my 2005 Z71, same color, and he looked it over and could not find a scratch or dent on it. While I was inspecting his 2006, he was "fine tooth combing" mine. The big scrape on his, like I said-put there since his ad was posted, had to really let the air out of his sails. His interior was very very nice. Except for the obvious fluids maintenance, under the hood was in great shape. The front axle seals and the oil drain plug fluid leaks were easily addressed if I bought. My main point is that so many times, the sellers will over claim the condition of vehicle. It was NOT excellent and he hated to hear that. It is his 76 year old father's vehicle and he may have over promised what he could sell it for.

The seller texted me that he says the engine and transmission are the heart of the vehicle and the concerns/problems I showed and pointed out to him are minor and he knows what he has and it's value. That tells me I am still in his head and he did not call any of the so called "$10k to $13k" offers, he had already turned down. I texted back that whoever checks it out and finds what I found will walk away at his price and he may sell to a rube that does not know what is going on. I also reminded him that right at that moment he still has the ad up saying there are no scratches. I asked how he sleeps at night? I then reminded him that I showed him to his face, all of the concerns and why. My offer of $9k is as high as I go.

This is on the 2006 Tahoe Z71 Silver Birch Metallic, that I looked at the other day.

Well, the guy has big b*a*l*l*s, I will tell you that. He added a pic of the big scrape to the list of CL pics, added wording in the ad to describe the scrape and get this, he upped the asking price by $3k to a total of $18k Or Best Offer.

Wtf???:badidea::893MrT-thumb::wtf2::893MrT-thumb::wtf::bs:
So what kinda dope is THAT dude smoking?? He thinks he has cojones that are bigger than my truck, if he's thinking it's worth MORE than it was before you pointed out its many issues.
Which, I might add, your VERY thorough inspection is what everyone should do on a planned purchase of any old vehicle. I didn't look Rawhide over as good as I should have; we'd already arranged to meet the seller at the RV park at a certain time, and then our work on the other side of Houston ran long. So time was of the essence. I felt okay with the general condition of the truck, because he had posted many photos and was honest with me about the things it did need in our phone conversations. So a hurried inspection was all there was time for; then on to counting out the funds. Counting a couple grand in twenties, cause that's all the ATM's have, can be a challenge....
