Looks great! Now when is the BDS Suspension lift kit being installed? :D

As much as I’d like to say next week, it’s going to have to wait until I save up some more. My goal is for early fall, but it may have to wait until next spring. Between the cost of the lift, regearing, wheels & tires, I’ll have quite a bit of cash to save up lol.

For now though, I’m going to drive it and enjoy it. I want to get a bedliner sprayed in this summer and a decent quality tonneau cover so that could possibly be it for awhile.

Either way, this truck has come so far since I started this thread that it amazes me it’s the same truck. Pretty sure my dad would be very happy with it. Stay tuned….:D

Like I said, it’s crazy to see the difference so far.

Well today was the first time I actually was able to go for a drive. Honestly it felt pretty good. Between the nervousness about someone running into me and the nostalgia I feel, I’m very happy with the way it’s turned out so far. I took a couple generic photos at a local park and then this one on a side road.

One of the best feelings in the world, rolling out after all the hard work you did. Looks great.
Only had mine out for a few hundred kilometers so far since the bit of work I did, but I don't think you could smack the smile off my face every time I'm out with it.

Yesterday was probably my favorite, had both my daughters with me for a short shopping trip, told them both how much it meant to me, they now think I'm crazier than they already know I am!

Nothing new to report at the moment. Currently have to grab a new lower air dam for the front bumper and repaint the tow hooks to help clean up the front end.

I plan to cut the exhaust at the rear axle and dump it with a 4” black diesel truck tip just to help clean up the rear end a bit. I may look into an aftermarket muffler also just to give it a nice rumble.

After that it’s going to be a new bedliner and tonneau cover. I haven’t driven the truck much just because I’ve been busy. I’m heading to Columbus this week for the Goodguys car show and then next week we’ll be leaving for our yearly camping trip to Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

I managed to grab a photo of her in the shade on the 4th of July and OMG o_O

Your truck is going to look so good lifted, especially if you refrain from installing wide chrome or billet wheels with low-profile tires. No offense to those who like that look.:Get him!:

I understand the look isn’t for everyone. Around me the only OBS trucks that are lifted have beat to hell 15x12 old school wheels and are rusted. I plan on making this a Friday night cruiser, but with my own twist. I’m going with 22’s, but there will still be plenty of sidewall. My dad loved chrome wheels so I’m going to go with a forged polished aluminum wheel.

It won’t be for everyone, but I’ll love it.

Mate, you're not building it for everyone else, so go with whatever makes you happy. The naysayers can build their own, their own way.

Lately I’ve gone through the process of converting all the lighting to LED. Interior is all LED with the exception of the instrument cluster & HVAC controls. I plan on doing the door switches soon enough.

Outside, everything is going to be LED with the exception of taillight/brake bulbs. I’m sticking with the factory headlight housings so there will be a ton of light scatter, but it looks better than the old incandescent bulbs. Where I live there are a ton of deer and not a ton of people at night, so I’m not worried about blinding anyone. The truck really doesn’t get driven at night anyway.

My only problem right now is hyperflash with the switchbacks in the turn signals. I bought the flasher relays and replaced the one by the brake pedal, but can’t locate the one near the ashtray.

Anyway, here are my most recent purchases. I bought new taillights because the smoked ones were too dark for my taste and I was worried about being rear ended. The original 3rd brake light was cracked so I upgraded.

Looks great. Smoked/tinted tail lights should remain in the early 2000s, IMO.
My wife argued with me to keep them because I will admit, they looked great against the tinted windows. But…..none of the other lights were tinted and they looked out of place.

The biggest reason and I explained it to her too, I simply put too much money into this truck for someone on their phone to rear end me because they couldn’t see my brake lights. People drive bad enough when they can see your lights.
