You're gonna like the LS swap, no matter what size. The hardest part is getting up the nerve to actually DO IT!!
Exactly!!! Lol
For me, the hardest part is going to be pulling the money out of the bank!!! Lol
I know I could buy one online right now for $2000. But that's just the motor.
But if I go pull one myself from a wrecking yard, $350-400 IF there is one there. It's and hour to the nearest one, and you never know what's in the yard. So you could waste a few hours of family time for nothing.

So I really hope I can pry that one out of my buddies hands. Make it so much easier, he's two blocks away. Gonna poke at him some more tonight. See what happens.

Maybe, instead of looking for just an engine, look for a used van. It'd have everything you need in one package
100% agree, unfortunately I think woman would not "get it" and smother me with a pillow, her preferred method for me apparently!!!

I have looked around for them, but I'm an hour outside the city where most are listed, and they are actually going for higher prices than I'm willing to pay, and I don't have the time or patience to try and part the remainder out.

And my town has some strict bylaws in regards to vehicles that are not running. And we have bylaw "officers" who have nothing better to do than issue tickets. Small town, easy to notice when something has changed.

Edit....and I don't have a trailer or place to store a full vehicle anymore while I try and part it out anymore as woman made me turn 1/2 the backyard into a garden!

So a few things.
First.... buddy being the stubborn ass he is, says if I want the motor, I need to buy the whole truck, asked how much, he didn't respond, and that was last night.
I'm sure it's going to be a stupid number. So I guess it can sit and rot in has backyard then....cuz I know he's never fixing the quadrasteer. Dumbass!

Second....I hate mice!!!

That's the passenger side door panel. When I was at Sean's place last weekend and went to show him the interior, I noticed the hole. Thought somehow one of the kids did something stupid, and he said it looks like something nibbled it, crouch down and sure as ****, they are a whole bunch out. WTF?!?!?!
I hope they died a painful slow death!!
Going to have to take a good long look inside to see what other damage they did.

Wonder if the B-tards got into the HVAC and that's why my blend door actuator is f'd now?

And when I stopped at other buddies house and went to show him the mouse damage, I mentioned be careful cuz the handle is messed up from the thieves.
And he said maybe this is the problem it rattles!

Missing the friggin bolt!!!!! Lol
That makes sense, lol.
Who the hell knows where that went or how!!!

Anyway, going to pull the drivers one out, and head down to some places to see if I can find one to stuff in there.

There is some thunder storms rolling in, so I have to put the kids bike back in the garage.
Delays some plans I had for today already.
But should clear up in a bit, and I'll see if I can make some **** happen today! Lol

Edit.... forgot to mention, my panels are basically mint!!! So I'm really mad at the mice.
BUT.....now I won't feel so guilty if they somehow get "modified" during a stereo install. Just saying. Lol

And there we go....one two minute drive, $5 and hug and kiss with the woman later, door handle fixed! Lol
Woman works at one of the farm supply stores now, so got to say hi. Only thing that sucks is they don't sell "singles" there like the other place. Only little packs of them, hence the $5, but I did get her discount so that's good! Lol

Upon closing the door....thunk!
No rattle!!! Yay!!!
Who would have thunk that huh?
Will make for a much quieter drive I'm sure!

Well....did this this morning.
Now it's a waiting game too see how it works out. See in a few hours once it dries.
Hopefully the weather clears so I can get it outside for a good look.
Garage has crappy lighting, so I'll blame it on that if it's not good!!! Lol

Like any project, I know where the flaws are, but no one gonna see it rolling down the road.

Been a bit over two hours now. It's still a bit tacky and "streaky".
I did go a bit heavy on the clear.
Hopefully it won't go sideways on me!!! Lol
Wish it was nice and sunny out, but it's not.
Tossed a fan in front, hopefully that helps it with the off gassing.
