Yes, I am completely open to a 1500HD 4x4 crew cab short bed. I saw one with ext cab and one on BAT that went for way too much. I also recently, in another thread, was in an auction, at B.A.T., for a 2004 Avalanche 2500 4x4 and it was within 70 miles of me and I went and checked it out. My price was no more than $11k. It went for $12,750 and the buyer is transporting it from Florence, Or. to Virginia. The truck itself was solid and 8.1 engine and 4L85E transmission only had 100k miles on them with records to back up the repairs and maintenance. No leaks at all. BUT, it needed the steering shaft either serviced or replaced, had a small quarter size dent above rf tire, on the fender, and had a shimmy in the teering wheel above 50 mph. It had aftermarket wheels and aggressive tires with scalloped front tires. Even if I got it for around $11k, there would have been the $500+ fee to BAT and the different wheels and tires.are you checking out 1500HD's as well?
in BC, they seem to be coming up recently and most are option loaded for around 9-12k, depending on mileage etc.
no good if you require an 8ft box, thou.
Not a bad deal at all....I paid $4900 2 years ago for my '97 CCLB with 120K on it. And it's paint is not near that nice, it's 2wd and a 5.7.I am watching this truck though, at BAT. It is north of here in Wa.

Yes, even though it is not a GMT800 and not a 6.0, this truck is nice enough that, the way I take care of them, will appreciate in value, for sure. BUT, have to get it for the right price and I am afraid it is gonna get crazy on the final day.Not a bad deal at all....I paid $4900 2 years ago for my '97 CCLB with 120K on it. If this one stays this nice, it will only appreciate....
I looked at trucks for four years before Rawhide turned up. Have had him since '22, next week it'll be 2 years. They haven't always been "good" times but I still don't regret the purchase.Well, hell, I give up. I cannot find a decent one within 100 miles. They are either rode hard and put up wet, no paperwork and high mileage or lifted. If I even get close to finding one, Silverado or Sierra, they want way way way too much. I am just gonna lay in the weeds and wait for the perfect time.
