My 99 Sub is getting a new ignition lock cylinder and new door locks soon, I ordered a set keyed all the same.

I'm actually debating on putting in some way of crippling the ignition/starter or fuel pump altogether. Where I live, old trucks like this are being stolen a lot and used for pure jackass purposes like stealing trailers and hauling meth. They are pretty easy to break into and get started. Someone stole my company's 20ft trailer recently using a stolen truck. Unfortunately they haven't been caught.

The old Pass lock crap hasn't functioned on this truck since I bought it in 2014, which is actually good b/c that means it never malfunctions.

I'm thinking about putting something like an HVAC panel pullout type switch to disable the fuel pump. That comes with obvious risk of losing the pullout. Or I could put a disable toggle switch somewhere inconspicuous.

Any ideas?

I recommend a starter interrupt rather than a fuel or ignition system interrupt. If your security upgrade suddenly fails, the starter won't cause you to stall in traffic.

I had one on the pump and that was giving me ****-mind ya I crimped the wire not very well due to lack of space. Had a switch under the central console( under cd holder insert) so if my connection was better, I could always connect the wires had the switch failed.

Quick way to do it is pull the Crank fuse (10A Fuse, #8) from the panel on the side of the dash. I did that for a while but that didn't stop a break-in and attempted theft, which destroyed my steering column cover, ignition cylinder, and ignition cylinder housing. Now I double up by pulling the fuse AND use a Club 3000 steering wheel lock. I know they are super easy to open, but the visual alone makes thieves think that the Kia parked next to me is an easier target.
