They sell this adaptor kit but it looks like just a collection of pin adaptors....for various brands...

Your looking at it wrong. Those are adapters are for pre OBD2. Before OBD 2 became the standard. Meaning same test port across the board for all. So before 1996, meaning 1995 and earlier each auto manufacturer had their own obd1 style plug adapter. That's why there are different plugs , GM is rectangle, Chrysler is small square, Ford is pyramid shape etc. is your innova model obd1 capable ? Ask innova. When obd 2 became law, the one style testing plug became the standard. That kit is an OBD1 all auto manufacturer kit.
