SS headed meet Walker Y Pipe

Hello, this is my 1st post from Europe as I could not find what I was looking for. I have SS headers with an integrated donut type seal /fitting with a 3 hole bracket to connect to my new Walker Y Pipe that appears to have a shroud for the donut seal for the OEM type Cast headers as well with a 3 hole triangular mounting bracket. I already know that I may have to cut my Y Pipe to get a perfect fit to the headers.

Question: what type a seal is used between the SS headers and the Y pipe assuming the geometry and diameters fit ?

SS as in stainless steel, or from an "SS" optioned Chevy?
What year, make , model, eng, during the models production there were design changes, the identification matters.
