Oil Pickup Screen Angle

I know - I am not installing it that way. I’m smarter than that the photo shows the extreme angle to get it to the right mounting depth.

I did read the FAQs and saw yours. I measured 7.25” on the pan where the pickup would be sitting. This raised section might account for the .25” difference. I thought that section was important to consider when determining mounting depth.

I recently did this with my 1989. My oil pan does not have that hump in the bottom; the distance from the pan rail to the top of the pickup was 6-1/2". I simply duplicated the depth with the new pickup tube and cut away the section in blue.
