Need a new screw for overhead console.

Got an overhead console for my 94 Sierra EC, but I don’t have the screw that hooks the front of it to the roof. What size screw do I need? I don’t want to poke a hole through the roof.

Did you get it from a salvage yard or online? The screw you need can be had from literally any GMT400 or 91+ S-Series with the console. You need the screw AND the slide-in backup nut that slides into the pre-existing hole in your ceiling.

Iirc, it's just a #8 screw and a J-clip (also for a #8 screw of course) in the roof. Nothing specific at all to an overhead console installation. I don't remember the length. But the depth of the hole, plus about 3/8" should do it.

Just go to j/y & get what you need.

Around here, they wouldn't charge you for the screw & clip.
