I think I know the answer but want to confirm.....

Will a 1992 moonie gauge cluster be a plug and play into a 1990? Both C1500 trucks with v8 5.7 in each.

Thanks!

1992 didn't have Moonie clusters so the answer is automatically a no there lol. But even so, the connector is different, so still no.

Wellll, Maybe he had the year wrong??? I picked up the cluster today and it is identical to the cluster in my 90. Also snagged a glove box door that isn't all warped like mine is.

I'm still real new to the GMT 400's so please excuse my ignorance! haha

Lol no problem - the Moonie clusters went from 88-91, 92-94 were needle clusters only. In 91 they started using the needle cluster, but retained the old connector, and that's the only needle cluster that will work on the 88-90. Tho I think a wire has to be added for the tach. 92+ the connector changed and they went to an external vss buffer as well.

So yeah he had the year wrong lol

yea the moonies are interchangeable. my truck is an 89 c3500 and just put in a moonie cluster from a 90 c1500 and it works fine, speedo is just off because of different tire sizes / gear ratios
