Recirc/MAX are synonymous, but I typically say "recirc" as that's what the system does. I was taught it's more efficient at cooling the air as it pulls most from the floor. Much easier for the system to cool & dehumidify air from the cabin than the outside. It gets pretty humid here and the locals are always chuffing their vape & pot smoke out with lotsa pride so I mostly run recirc. Helps with that stank somewhat.
