I got a question for everyone. I got a 2000 Z71 Tahoe, and probably about a year ago my second high and high fan speed stopped working, including rear fan for passengers. Didn’t drive it much for the rest of summer/year, so I didn’t really look into it yet.
I’ve been driving it a lot this year since i got transmission leaks with my 1995 RCSB, and the heat has been brutal here in Texas. It looks like my wires had melted in the back of my HVAC unit, and I was wondering if there was a to prevent this from happening again?
I went to the junkyard and got a new unit as well the connector with thicker gauge wire. I plan on on replacing the the wires/connector, but wanted to know if anyone’s added a relay to prevent the wires from melting in future?
