Comp lifter noise

I just completed an engine refresh on my 2000 GMC K3500 454/7.4. I installed a 454HO cam with Comp lifters (900-16). I only have about 550 miles on it and the lifters seem to leak off if it sits for a few hours. When it’s a ‘cold’ start it’s really ticky, but that goes away fairly quickly once the oil gets moving and the lifters get pumped back up. Once it’s warm it seems like all is well. Has anyone else dealt with this on Comp lifters?

Check your preload,sounds like it may be a little loose.

I’ve been through them a couple of times. I’ll probably take valve covers off and check again. I mainly wanted put a feeler out and see what other experiences are with these things before I dive back in (potentially look into warranty). It’s really annoying to have to keep going back in on brand new stuff.
