I noticed or maybe it’s something I never noticed before, but this evening I started my 1996 5.7 K1500, and at idle in gear, this was oil gauge reading:

Then it seemed to stay there for first 10 minutes of drive and then at a red light it dropped to 40 psi per gauge.
Parked truck after 20 minute drive and at idle in gear had this:

So I’m guessing at cold start, psi is higher till truck warms up. Unless my gauge is screwy. Yup, I needed gas too.
