A friend of mine spends a lot of time in the junkyards scrounging parts for GMT400s. He recently got me a 9.5” six-lug.

Earlier this week he called me to tell me that he found a 1998 dually with RPO JB6 brakes.

I asked him to get me some pictures, and to check the VINs to make sure everything jibes.

He has since been to the yard and sent me these two pictures.

I asked them to take some more of the vehicle.

He confirmed it’s got the full floating axle, seemingly everything you expect on a dually.

Is this some sort of unicorn?

(Edit: This was solved, the glove box had been swapped, and the "RPO" sticker was from a different truck).

One sticker says 141.5 wb... that's the TK10753 ECSB length

The other sticker has the K30953 ECLB model that is supposed to be 162.5 wb

the last few digits of the VIN on each sticker don't match either

can't wait to see pics!

The VINs don’t jibe, I see it now, too.

On the glovebox "RPO" sticker, the last three digits of the VIN can be seen to the left of the wheelbase (141.5), but those don’t agree with the last three digits of the VIN shown on the door sticker.

I thought he checked the VINs. I should’ve checked before I posted.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program.
