I really love this truck. Ran some errands, left it running in the parking lot, in the sun, a/c on, for 30 minutes and the coolant temp didn’t even hit 210

I gave up and went to the muffler shop yesterday. The band clamp kept coming loose so the tailpipe would hang down, rattle on the bed and looked like a horse c*ck from the right angle.

Anyways, I had him put the borla back on, weld the mid pipe to the cat and bend up a tailpipe to go out the back.

It’s 3” crush bent, but it’s not crinkled, from the wye-pipe back. And solid. I really like the hangers they used.

Can barely hear it inside the cab at cruise. Zero drone. I’m happy with it. Plus the Borla let’s you here the tiny chop the marine cam gives

I’ll most likely do a nice stainless tip after I replace the bumper.

I ordered some inlet seals from @el torro and they showed up today. I’ll throw this package on top of my tool box to sit with all my other good intentions :3811797817_8d685371 I promise I’ll get all this stuff done eventually:Boo:

Speaking of things todo, I probably need to do valve stem seals on my rebuilt engine. I’m getting a big puff of smoke at startup and about a quart of oil per 1000 miles of consumption.

It’s getting to the point that it’s not running its best. I can feel the plugs fouling out.

What is everybody’s preferred valve stem seals?

Woohoo! First batch arrived. When you put them on the easiest way I found was to put the gasket on the TB and snap the hat over it. It might take a little force to get the hat to seat on the backside. If it’s giving you trouble a drop or two of lubricant will make it slip right on.

I’m getting ready to do passenger side valve seals on my kid’s 5.7. The truck sat for three days and I cold started it this morning. Finally saw the blue puff of smoke and the fresh oil is a little bit lower than where it was last week.

I think I’m going to use the Fel-Pro kit. I know GM has new seals that are specific to intake and exhaust, I’m having a hard time finding them for a reasonable cost. Rock auto shows a pic of 5 exhaust seals but says the cost is $10 per seal. Is it $50 for 5 or $10 for 5?

Changed the plugs today because the slight hiccup was turning into a hesitation. I’m not happy. #7 is absolutely burning oil.

But the better thing is I changed the intake tube/throttle body seal! It’s a perfect fit!
