I ran over a small branch going about 10 MPH & my truck skid to a stop, like brakes locked up. Checked around & saw no leaks. Pushed parking brake in, released it, & truck acted normal. What caused this? My concern is it happening going at faster speeds on a busy road.

Manual or Automatic transmission?

Nevermind, saw your sig showing 4L60e. I wouldn't think an automatic would stall from wheels locking up unless the torque converter was also locked, which doesn't seem right at 10 mph.

Maybe a loose electrical connection somewhere.

You were still in gear and tried to accel and would not move? You put in park and then in drive and still would not move? during the whole inspection process, did you leave running or shut off and restarted? If you pushed park brake in and released, did the pedal feel normal when pushed in to set brake? Sure sounds like limb snagged a cable and cable was set and then did not want to release till you did the whole process. Salt on roads state?

I left it running & parking brake pedal felt normal pushing in. No salting here.

I don’t believe it’s transmission related. Probably snagged parking brake cable like others mentioned. I purposely ran it over again on way home & nothing happened.

Do you think that could have smacked your t-case linkage and created a jamming situation? When you stopped it popped back to normal? Just thinking out loud here.

For some reason I was thinking that the engine died when it came to a stop. Glad it's ok.
