K1500 front end conversion

I have a 1996 gmc 1500z71 (6 lug) and i want to know how hard it’d be to swap it to 8 lug front and back. I got the back figured out but the front not quite. Would 1996 k2500 hubs fit on there with the stock axles and a arms or would i have to take axles hubs and a arms off of a 2500? If not then i’d like suggestions on what route to go. Thanks.

Is it a C1500, or a K1500?
To what purpose? You still have a lightweight frame. And 1/2 ton suspension.

i have 8 lug rims and the rearend just need the front figured out. literally that’s it and i’m gonna rebuild the front end anyways so i figure why not.

Its not a bolt on swap. It can be done but heard it's a PITA. There is a post somewhere bout it.....

Get knuckles off a high year 97-98 i forget when they change
swap them in they bolt right in.just run your k1500 upper control arm the ball joint taper is the same as the k3500 but the way the ball joint mounts on the k3500 control arm is tapered. idk why he swapped it to the k3500 would have been much easier to just run the k1500 upper control arm

k3500 bj is also mounted on the bottom k1500 mounted on top for the extra height k3500's have if you run into any issues just do the bj flip on your k1500 ( mount it under like the k3500)

also the forged control arms shown in video are the best to run lots of info on here about them although scattered it's here

More like replace front end, not rebuild.

Just do wheel adapters if all you want is to use your existing wheels
