Needs a lot of work! But it will be worth it. RPO code GU6 for 3.42 gears, kinda surprised at that one. How often did the heavy half get that gear ratio? 4.10 is the favorite up here, at least in my circle.

I had a '94 K1500 parts truck with F44 so it got the 14 bolt 9.5" SF rear, and it was 3.42, with G80 (Eaton Gov-Loc) - really surprised me on the gearing; figured the 4x4 would've come with 3.73's.

You really don't see 4.10 on these trucks unless you get an 8 lug 2500, or a 3500.

Congratulations on the "new" truck! Hang onto that seat console, those are hard to find and expensive when you do find them in good condition.
I came close to getting a camper shell like that for my crew cab, it was even gold like my truck. But it was in a wrecking yard, and needed too much repair work for what I would have paid for it. So my truck's bed is still uncovered....I can find them for short bed trucks but not too many out there for the long beds. People who have them, keep them.....

A lot people here order the 4.10's but your right, they order the 8 lug also, we have some steep grades to pull with boats and campers. I expected 3.73
