Anybody know of one with a good warranty.I have had a Napa 200a, but it is failing, tried to lockup and started smoking the belt. NAPA tells me they no longer offer the 200a version just the 145a. I am going to use the 145a replacement to get me up and going again but just curious if anyone has run across anything with a decent warranty. I am not a fan of Powermaster at all but open to other brands.

Try this part number at NAPA:

NRO 1N4807HO

Shows I can have it tomorrow. Same unit I use on my Suburban. Tested at 114a at idle and 242a @ speed.

I’ve always thought Mechman alternators were the best. Built for continuous loads. They’re expensive. Ive never used one, but my friend has and I was very impressed with it.

I plan to get one when my original bites the dust.

Any other local stores have it in stock?
No but I think I figured it out, talked with the store manager at my local store, should have one tomorrow. Looks like NAPA changed the part number and line code on the unit. This unit shows to fit all the same stuff and pulled up in the search results when I searched the 1N-4812-HO number. It is an AD244 200 amp with a 4 pin regulator.

I re-read your post and completely missed the number change. Mine was a NNE 1N-4812-HO. Looks like the same unit as the new number you gave. I was giving them the old number and the new number was not interchanging nor is it listed for a 2003 Tahoe application. It is listed for everything else though. Weird.
