You didn't really see anything in there. Just sludge build up.:smoke2:

I'd drive it and pretend there wasn't anything amiss.
That’s the plan. Once Southern IL truck show down is over it will immediately go in for replacement. I’m going to call a couple places on Monday and start getting quotes.

Anyone have any idea on what this may run? Just for S’s and giggles I guess.
Install Detroit/yukon, replace bearings/seals, clean, re-use factory gear at if it is deemed re-usable. I’m just guessing it will be $1,500 or more.

X3 for TrueTrac. Love the one in our Monte Carlo.

EDIT - I seem to remember someone here having a similar debate between Eaton/Yukon carriers years ago, deciding on the Yukon, then having issues with it. Can't remember who it was and I'm having no luck searching though, sorry!

I forgot how much people enjoy spending other people’s money on this forum, haha. But I’m here for it. I’ll probably go with Detroit.

Just went out and checked. It is looking good. There is a very small gap between the dash cover and the gauge bezel. I will of course notice it right away every time but it is nothing major.

The drivers side took some work to get straight but I’ve got plenty of towels in there to hopefully keep it flush. Tomorrow I’ll have to go over all the excess with a damp rag and a razor blade.

Could be worse. Your entire dash (what's left of it) could shake with every bump you hit. :)

Here it is this morning. Overall I am pleased with the outcome! It doesn’t line up 100% perfect, but I didn’t expect it to. There are zero major gaps or very ill fitting areas. On the drivers side there is a small raised area by the courtesy light switch that I need to apply some more silicone RTV to. The defrost vents are lined up okay, and it moves good air volume through there. About on par with what it was previously (decent, whole box needs to be resealed).
