I played with my steering geometry in solidworks and figured out I can move my tie rod pivot point back and outward enough to maintain 32% Ackermann, and get my steering ratio down to 13.3:1. This would allow a full 75° lock to lock but I would likely have to put the steering limiters back in the rack if the cv axles don’t like that much angle. This would require making a bracket similar to what the drift guys use on vettes.

I will toss the ‘92 on stands this week and get those measurements. Motor and trans are out. She can still be useful to the forum!

Good to hear! I’ve been tweaking a design for a bracket similar to the one pictured in my last post. A friend 3D printed it for me today and I did a test fit, it worked perfectly. Everything clears, 75° lock to lock, 13.3:1, a bit over 30% ackermann which I think is acceptable. Also got yaw sensor and obd2 port mounted. all ABS related things are wired in. Plan on doing brake lines tomorrow. I feel like I’m getting so close but then I look at my list and I still have so much left to do…

The yaw sensor is a neat add-on. Where do you mount that at? There’s going to be a lot of tech and engineering packed into this truck!
Mounted under the dash a bit right of the steering column. The abs module uses it for some of its calculations but that’s above my pay grade. I should be able to data log anything from the abs module. brake pressure, wheel speed on all 4 corners, acceleration in all directions(g force)

Anyone recognize this module? It’s been buried deep in my dash ever since I got the truck, it’s dated Dec 1997(truck is a 95). It certainly looks like a slapped together aftermarket install. have no clue what it is.

Looks like an immobilizer, the little thing looks like it has a 1/8" jack. Plug the special "key" in there and start your vehicle.

Thank you sir! You just made me recall this little guy I found in the truck when I first got it and I kept it because I didn’t know what it was for.

I agree. These yellow butt connectors most likely interrupts the starter or ignition wire. Really need to get those T-taps out of there :893Chainsaw-Smilie-
