Soo you’re telling me it’s plug and play! That’s it! I’m trying to see if my shop can install it and they’re saying I have to take it to a performance shop. I called the perm shop and they do t want to mess with it either ugh

You're talking to the wrong shops, then. The first shop is wrong.. and as far as the performance shop, they don't want to mess with it because it's just regular stock parts replacement that any basic shop (or DIY'er) can do.

Did you need a tune after installing my the mpfi?
Yes to get the full benifit. Without tuning it, it will run lean. The injector data is night and day different the PCM uses to accurately fuel the engine in all conditions. The MPFI spider flows less and the injector compensations are very different.

No, it’s a direct swap
Not so quick. It absolutely does need to be tuned to run correctly. The MPFI spider flows less and the injector correction data the PCM uses to accurately deliver the required fuel is much different. GM should have corrected the tuning on everything those injectors fit and reflashed the VCM/PCM with every injector swap. The engine will run leaner and the 02s have to fatten the mixture back up via long term fuel trims. Not the ideal situation to run the engine in.

A while back I added an HP Tuners file for an 0411 PCM with both the Injector Data corrected for the MPFI upgrade spider and a revised MAF calibration to match what the Black Box tune uses for these trucks with the stock airbox. The 2001-2002 van MAF file is also out to lunch when used on these trucks despite the MAF being the same part number. This file ran a stock Escalade flawlessly.

Excellent data @L31MaxExpress. I wish you could work on my truck to get it working at peak performance for what I have into it! My service shop was able to find some AM spider injectors from car quest and going to chance the longevity. I had new injectors installed along with distributor during the build and has only lasted a year. Wonder if it’s due to cheap parts and/or faulty installation. I wish I knew more about this wonder build 383 to working at top performance as a daily/street rod. Got anymore suggestions for this street amateur. I could use a few tips! Thanks yall. I don’t want to throw caution in the wind and get it back on my face
