Lookin' good!
How heavy a coat of clear did you get on there? Enough to finish sand and buff?
Thanks.
I unloaded two full cans on it. Which was probably too much, but these cans didn't have a "coverage area" on them.

It should definitely be thick enough to wet sand, and I hope it is because that's what's going to happen next weekend hopefully.
It didn't turn out as good as the ass end ones did.

There is orange peel and a texture to it.
Wondering if it was because the "haze" dropped and stuck there after I was done spraying.
It wasn't overly hot in the garage, but there was definitely more of a haze in the air, my boy pointed that out when he came in.

So gotta pick up a buffer machine and the associated goo's that go along with it sometime this week. And have a cut-n-buff party next weekend! Lol
Haven't done that since grade 10 automotive class.

Pulling for you ....cant wait to see the final result. My .02c be really patient and let that dry really good before taking it outside .......
It didn't turn out exactly as planned. But is what it is. I'm sure I can "salvage" it one I wet sand and do the buffing thing next weekend hopefully.
And if not, oh well. Try again sometime in the future.

I always had my best results spraying in the morning. I converted the office in my shop into a spray booth. Two reasons,I needed a sterile environment to paint in and when people asked if I could paint their cars or trucks I'd tell them that if it wont fit through the door I ain't painting it. I did let a guy talk me into painting a Bugati kit car body, the pieces fit through the door.

Here are a few with the fender unmasked.
Pretty damn close in color from what I can see!
If I didn't know the hood was rattle canned, and walking by, I probably wouldn't be able to tell.

I'll roll it outside later and have a good look a.d maybe get some better pics.

You really need to invest in some spray equipment even if you just cut those Duplicolor cans open and pour them into a decent spray gun. I've done that several times for touch up or graphics.

You didn't get it wet enough. Next time try a tack coat and two flood coats. You will have very little finish sanding and buffing if you do it like that.

Lol.... that's actually pretty smart!
Bike tins are probably way less of a hassle and then not as many favors for friends or friends of friends.

It was maybe 20c/68f and 50% humidity when I did it. So not the worst conditions.
But I think it was the fumes lingering then settling that caused the "issue ".

When I do my real paint job, I already have a booth design in my fat head.
And it will include fans down low to draw the fumes and mist out.
There will be an "inlet" for fresh air to come in, but through a furnace filter, and same with the fans going out, they will have pre and post filters on them.

I'm not upset or angry at the way it turned out. I mean, what good "real" paint job doesn't get cut and buffed after the clear.
I can't expect perfection out of rattle cans in a garage!
I'm just more shocked that the ass end didn't "need" it.

Oh for sure, once the real time comes, I will have good stuff to do it.
Buddy has some good guns, Deviblis I believe , I have access to a decent compressor, and I'll spend the required money on filters etc.
This was just get it looking more presentable than farmer primer and EDP coated panels rolling down the road.

Good enough for now, but better than 1/2 ass'n it.
