I was given an older, but never used pair of 5 1/4" Clarion speakers that I would like to put in my doors.
This is the spot that I would like to put them. The lower pocket limits how far down I can go, and it looks to be the perfect spot, but is there something structural in the door that will prevent me from putting them there?

A lot of people have put speakers there, it's just a Google image search away.
But to be safe, just pop your panel off and take a boo.....has to come off anyway to run your wiring. Just break a tape measure out and make sure the magnet won't interfere with your window travel up and down. And if it does, just add a spacer between the panel and speaker.

They'd look like doo-doo there. Even if their depth wasn't an issue, the sound quality wouldn't be good for anything other than low frequency duty as they're firing right into your shins.

I agree, definitely not an ideal location, especially for a component speaker.
I made pods for mine years ago that went down at the kick panel. Sounded pretty darn good, imaging was good, looks not so much. When I redo my system, I wanna get some junkyard kicks and break out the fiberglass and do it "right" this time.
