Hey all!
I am looking at buying a 2 maybe a 4 inch lift kit for my 2wd 90 1500. But I am also considering not lifting it and buying bilstein shocks instead. The price for the 2 inch (rough country) would be about the same as buying all new shocks, u bolts, etc. any opionions? I’m thinking the 2 inch so I can have some more ground clearance and room for bigger tires. Not looking to really jack my truck up as I’m hoping to save some of that fuel economy, but enough w/tires to be noticeable
Thanks!

For a brief moment I actually thought about lifting my 2wd RCSB, like up there pre runner style on 37"-40" tires. Did a bit of research, and I believe the Rough Country stuff was basically considered the "bottom feeder" of the lifted world. Hence why you can get an entire kit for the same price as a good set of shocks, as you pointed out.

I then found the BDS and Zone kits, they seemed to have a MUCH better reputation and reviews. But with a loftier price of course.

I'd say do some more research on the RC stuff, reviews etc, and remember that you get what you pay for. But cheating out on suspension is usually not the best choice one can make.

Ok, so the reviews are defiently mixed. Maybe I get bilsteins that can handle a lift (for if I decide to do one later) and just leave it for now? I’m being kinda pushy about this as my box is currently off, and that makes life a lot easier in the suspension replacement world

The specific Bilstein 5100’s for your truck are for a 3”-6” lift. Not really for a truck that isn’t lifted.
The B6-4600’s are for non-lifted trucks.

Ok, yea I did see that. So I’m kinda stuck one way or another. So maybe just bigger tires than? With the Bilsteins?

2 inch is going to be a crank it up kit, do adiff drop or don't do it.
