Looks like ServePro was there. “Like it never even happened”!
Easy now, I wouldn't go that far. Definitely better than it was though. Time to go work on inside projects now. Like measuring and cutting a new vanity bottom (vanity has been built and installed short of the cabinet floor) and reinstalling trim in that bathroom.

The important thing is you’ve stopped the rust. Once pad and carpet's back in it will look good.

That's my only goal in this endeavor.
the battle against rust sucks. its crazy how easy it can hide. I thought i had gotten lucky with mine with just light surface rust until i found some behind the rear fender. got to be vigilant!

It very much does suck. Seems to lurk in the dark invisible places.

After replacing the oxygen sensor ladt week, achieved closed loop idling in park. Warm idle after driving seems to have a bit of surging going on now, i.e. while backing into in-laws driveway etc. Haven't looked into it yet but do have a list of things to check.

On the knock counts, seems my exhaust is boucing on the transmission crossmember. Apologies for the glare in the photo.

I hope you can get the surge figured out. My ‘92 surged for years and I never really figured it out. I did basic diagnostics and only tried an IAC relearn but it didn’t work. It would do it religiously at hot idle on restart, but never at idle while sitting at a light. I am going to have to look back at your thread for info on your diagnostic screen… that looks very handy.

Oddly it isn't surging consistently, yesterday evening no surge. Monday it did it. I'm using tunerpro rt (trying to at least).

Need to check my fuel pressure for starters. Have the fittings, just not the time yet.

Would have been a 6am update, but been busy cooking breakfast and drinking coffee. Metal prep is still pretty wet. The previously rusty appearing pits have taken on a white powdery look that is brittle to the touch.

Realized I never posted the painted photo. Still haven't hit it with any clear coat, eventually I will.

Its bright, closest blue I could find with minimal effort. Eh, its getting covered up anyway.

In other news, we finally got some rain and I discovered the water leak, one at least, is the roof rack or the aged seam sealer on the roofline.
