Even more awesome in person
Yes sir. Plenty of 2500's, 3500's, and 3500HD's.. as well as HMMWV's.. equipped with them.Back in the day it was a heavy duty diesel. This should tell us how much diesels have improved in the last thirty years.
The few that I bought for my salvage yard all had bad engines. Of course, I was buying cheap trucks that had major issues, for parting out, so that's a natural. I did pass on quite a few that had bad engines and the seller still wanted a premium price because it was a diesel.
My '94 3500HD project was bought without an engine because it had blown up for a 2nd time and they pulled it for a rebuild, and while it sat on a pallet outside their shop, someone stole the engine (presumably for scrap.) No denying this truck was worked hard; it shows.

A '93 3500HD I bought was a Waste Management Corp. service truck and they apparently worked it hard enough to bend the frame. And crack the heads.

Then this ol' pewpstain that I actually do miss, the '58 Apache body-swapped onto a '94 C3500 frame.. it ran but left me walking enough times I decided I didn't want to become a 6.5td enthusiast.
