Hello, looking for some help with a 97 c2500 5.7 Vortec. About 3 months ago we replaced the dryer, hi side ac line and orifice tube. Today my ac stopped working and it's 113 out. Popped the hood and the alternator pulley wore a hole in the ac hose. Leaked out all refrigerant. My question is. How muck compressor oil has escaped with the refrigerant and how much should I replace?

Whatever's trapped in vapor goes out , it's a pressurized system.
How did the pulley get to the new the hose? Nothing is routed forward of the drive pulley planes, except rad ' hoses.

The new ACDelco hose didn't fit as good as the original hose. The new hose had a sag even when connected to the holder. Worked it's way down and touched the tensioner pulley and rubbed a hole. I mistakenly said alternator pulley before. I'm not the original owner. Not sure what's been done with AC system previously, oil ever added or not. How does one calculate how much oil is in the system? I was going to pull compressor and empty oil and measure. If it's over filled does it mean the rest of the system is over filled also?
