When I used the Klean Strip on the ‘95 it was a little damp when I checked it the next day. If you rinse it off it will dry fine.

Never a good feeling to find rust underneath the carpet. The good news is you can get away with a great but less than pretty repair.

Nice job on the O2 sensor! I need a pipe wrench…

Thanks. Only time I used it before was in a grill and I kind of neglected it since it was getting high heat paint slathered on it.

I'm just trying to mitigate the rust, will readily acknowledge the suburban will likely move on to new ownership in a few years. I'd really prefer a crew cab k3500 with a vortec engine.

Get a few sizes of pipe wrench. I've got an 8-9 inch, 12 inch, and 24 inch. Aluminum handled are nice in the larger sizes.

Would have been a 6am update, but been busy cooking breakfast and drinking coffee. Metal prep is still pretty wet. The previously rusty appearing pits have taken on a white powdery look that is brittle to the touch.

Paint and body guys (and thise of you that are truly commited), let me apologize now. I'm sorry. Things took a turn today due to the heat, humidity, and general lack of sleep.

I wiped the cargo area down with a wet rag after getting home today and it immediately started to flash rust. I of course did the only logical thing and sprayed it with the nearest primer to 'get 'er done'. Its done, needs a second coat to hit the thin spots and a top coat of something that I can cover up.

Don't really want to put the beat up padding back in but am leaning towards it at the moment.

Looks like ServePro was there. “Like it never even happened”!
