I reverted to the stock stereo (which, thankfully, was kept complete and intact, just disconnected, when the previous owner installed an aftermarket stereo), and it works well enough, except the speakers are kind of tinny, with virtually no bass response and iffy treble.
I'm not a big speaker fanatic by any means, so I'm not looking for anything fancy. I do appreciate good sound quality, however, and I would like to know if there are any budget friendly ($40-$60 per pair, ideally) 4x6" speakers that have better bass and treble response that would serve as drop-in replacements for the undoubtedly very worn out stock set.
This is a '94 GMC Sierra K2500. It has the second set that sits behind the seats, and I might consider replacing those too at some point, but I just want to concentrate on the dash speakers for now, as they're easier to get to.
Thank you!
